9 Months and Horsies

Baby boy is now NINE months old. It seems like he is doing new things all the time now. Every day he crawls a little bit faster, starts breaking in new teeth, and does all sorts of cute new tricks. He has one tooth that is about half way in and two others that are just sprouting through his gums.

We recently starting bathing him in the big tub. He loves it. He probably needed to be put in there sooner because he was starting to lunge around the little tub, but he really is doing well. The twins usually end up in there with him and the three of them have a ball playing with all of the bath toys together.

It seriously seems like one day he was getting into the dishwasher like this...

then the next day he was getting into the dishwasher like this. This boy is growing so fast!

The other day we were able to go to a local ranch/museum and the kids had a blast. We were able to do so many fun things.

Here are the boys making the fence squeak outside of the "cattle branding" station.

They had to wash some hankies the old fashioned way. Dallin really loved this and washed about four hankies then hung each of them on the line. It was way cute to watch him.

They had to do barrel racing with a stick horse. Cameron's horse was especially feisty. It ran him all over including up a steep hill with tons of cacti yikes! . It was so entertaining to watch him run all over with his little horsie.

Last but not least, the boys were able to ride a pair of real horses. I was so proud of them. Cameron wasn't even scared at all. I was a little worried that he would be apprehensive because of the whole dog fear, but he was great! I can't believe my babies are all grown up and riding horses!

We were also able to pet some miniature ponies and donkeys. Cameron and Dallin really loved those tiny animals. Cameron tried to drink out of their trough and everything. He wasn't even scared when the little burro tried to nibble his hair. Dallin loved them too. He found one of the leading ropes and wanted to lead a horse around. I would have liked to have seen that. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of them with the little ponies.

Here are my handsome little cowpunchers.

Easter

We had a great Easter, especially because we were able to have my parents come and visit for a few days. The boys loved seeing their grandparents and I loved being able to visit and enjoy their company. We sure wish that they live closer to us.

Here is a little taste of what we did for Easter:

We went to the city egg hunt. It was better than the horrible time last year, but still a little bit crazy. Perhaps we will skip this next year as I do not really appreciated being shoved by crazy parents trying to get their kids to savagely grab cheap plastic eggs filled with crap away from others.

A sweet moment from our boys.

The church egg hunt which was WAY better. Except for the fact that the wind was blowing harder than the inside of a vacuum. While the boys were gathering eggs one of them found and OLD goose egg. I was just glad that Darin caught him before he tried to open it to get the goodies out. Gross.

The loot that the Easter Bunny brought. Don't you love the look on his face? Notice I did not show the look on my face at 6:00 a.m. Yeah, way to early.

My baby boy. Wow he is growing so fast! All spruced up for Easter Sunday.

One of the more decent efforts of a family picture.

Grandma and the boys.

Enjoying time with Grandpa and playing the piano. I think that he was trying to sneak a treat or something.

We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. They need to come and visit us again soon ;)

8 Months Old

Here are some pictures of my sweet EIGHT month old baby:

My baby is in the process of getting his first tooth (yikes!) I sure am going to miss that toothless grin, but I am excited to see this cutie with some pearly-whites.

Also, I couldn't resist adding a picture of the twins in their new church clothes. I can't believe how handsome and grown-up looking they are!

A Snack

One morning I woke up and what did I find? My own son got himself a snack. Smarties, Nerds, a candy cane, and a lollypop. I love how he unwrapped everything and placed it neatly in a container so as not to make a mess. What a great meal to begin your day with. ;)

The Dog

A few weeks ago we had the chance to take care of our neighbors dog when they went out of town for a couple of days. We brought the dog over to our backyard so that the kids were able to play with it and be close to a dog for the first time.

Do you notice how one of the twins isn't in any of the pictures? That is because he was mortified of the dog, which is really funny because they are both always playing with it through the fence (petting it, giving it snacks etc). I felt so bad that he was scared of the dog. I tried to coax him into petting it and playing with it but each time he would cry, shake like a leaf, and beg to go back inside. It was really quite a traumatic experience for him.

It is so interesting for us that one of the twins LOVED the dog and to this day wants a dog of his own, and the other twin is so frightened of the poor pooch. I feel so bad for my boy!

Happenings

We have been doing a few fun things lately. For Valentines Day, the boys helped me make and decorate a card for Daddy.

The twins love to dance. I will put on music and they will dance around the house. They especially love Irish folk music :) I think it is so cute when they dance around with each other or will random break into Ring Around the Rosie.
He came up to Darin and said, "I'm a robot." Ha ha silly boy.
Last week we had a special visitor come. Aunt Janae flew down from Utah to visit. We loved having her come. Cameron and Dallin loved playing with her and I loved shopping with her. :) We were able to go to an Estate Sale and also do a lot of other fun things.

Luke loved being cuddled by her.

Cameron and Dallin enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese with her--that is until some "mean geese" came around and scared them (look at the goose with the mean stance in the picture). Now they are scared to death of waterfowl. Cameron and Dallin really miss their Aunt Janae. Every time we go to get into Golda, they ask if we are going to the airport to pick up Aunt Janae again. I guess that she needs to come and visit again soon.

Yesterday before getting in the car to go the library I heard Dallin say to Golda, the van: "Hi Golda, I'm Dallin." He then gave the van a couple of pats on the front grill. I never thought that my child would introduce himself to a van. Ha ha.

In the boys room I hung up a clothespin line with artwork that they created. Yes, sometimes my decorating has a little bit of my teacher influence in it. Thanks Harry Wong.In the boys room I also added a fun alphabet line. They are learning a few of their letters right now. I love it and I especially love that it cost me around $2 to make which is a far cry from the $15 price tag for similar cards from etsy.

Seven Months Old

My baby is now seven months old and he is officially a scooter. That is right he will scoot all over on his belly. It is crazy to think that from now on he will be moving around faster and faster.

This baby HATES any kind of baby food lately. I don't know what is the matter but he is refusing to eat any solids. I vaguely remember this happening with the twins, but I think that we kept pushing them to eat and they caught on pretty well. He started out eating solids like a champ, but refuses now. Very strange. I have tried many different foods, different spoons and everything but he just isn't going for it. Back to the drawing board.

He is such a happy and sweet boy. Right now he loves peeking over the bumper pad of his crib and smiling at me. Melts my heart!!!
