Housekeeping Woes

I have never been one of those anal housekeepers. I am more the type of person who does a thorough cleaning about once a week and then tries to maintain things between the deep cleaning sessions.

That worked fine before the kids came along.

Now if I don't do a thorough cleaning once a day things look really bad (and who really has the time or energy for that). Sometimes it really bothers me when there are toys all over the floor, when the windows are all smudged up, and there are milk drips all over the wood floors. And sometimes it seems when things are at their worst, people just happen to drop by.

The other day I read this verse and it has been stuck in my head ever since:

Sweeping and dusting can wait 'til tomorrow
For babies grow up, much to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs and dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

When I am old and all of my kids have moved on and my house is spotless I will probably wish that it was messy from sticky little fingers and muddy little feet. Yes. The cleaning can wait til tomorrow.

Happy Pre-Halloween!

Here is a little peek of the boys' Halloween costumes.

Before leaving the house we had to take photos at the front door.

I found some awesome ornamental cabbages and kale and truly love my front door fall decorative planters.

Also, what a sweet picture of the twins.

They had a little trick-or-treat festival for the kids where we were able to dress them up and practice their candy acquiring skills.

Here is sweet baby Luke in his ride. Yes he was also wearing his train engineer costume--sans hat and scarf.

The kids enjoyed seeing and learning about real trains.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the evening.

Twin Happenings

What have Cameron and Dallin been doing for the past few days?

Trying on Daddy's boots.

Trying out Luke's tummy turtle.

Trying out the shower for the first time (fully clothed and screaming wildly the whole time).

Out of the high chairs and onto the big chairs ( and getting stuck in one).

Being happy.

Trying out the pots and pans ( cookin up some buns)!

Riding the train to the library complete with a snack (fruit loop necklaces).

And, having a secret twin meeting.

Three Months Old!

My baby boy is three month old today. Here are some pictures of sweet little bubbas!

Matching Daddy's clothing and expression.

Licking the delicious overalls.

Getting some brotherly support during tummy time.

And enjoying a piano playing session with Daddy!

Pictures of the Twins

(Yes he does have a black eye. Apparently it isn't wise to pretend trains are balls and throw them.)
This is what happens when they don't have a nap.

Baby Luke's 2 Month Update

Luke has passed his two month birthday. He is getting to be quite a cute and chubby little baby. When we went for his two month checkup he weighed 12 lbs. 8 oz. He is so happy and always smiling. He even laughed for the first time yesterday at 10 weeks old! What a cutie.

Blessing Day

Two weeks ago, we went on a whirlwind trip up to Utah to see my brother before he left on his mission and to bless baby Luke. It was crazy. We pretty much drove up, got pictures of Luke taken (I will post them when we get them), canned tomatoes, visited with people, blessed Luke and then drove home. It was so worth it! I just wish that I was able to visit with all of the people that I wanted to, but we are planning on coming up for a two week visit in November so I wasn't too disappointed.

I was so happy with how everything turned out for Luke's blessing. He was so handsome in his little blessing outfit and Darin gave a beautiful blessing. He stayed quiet during the whole blessing and was very happy all day. He was blessed a few minutes before Mark did his missionary farewell talk. Mark did a great job and I was really impressed with the things that he shared. I am excited for him to be a missionary. I know he will do a great job and I look forward to teaching Cameron and Dallin more about the church while he serves in South Dakota.
